Deals are already in the offing for Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Dor Turgeman and Leicester centre-half Conor Coady, while out of contract Peterborough star Kwame Poku is also on the radar.

Aarons, 25, joined the Premier League side from Norwich City for £7million in 2023 amd spent the second half of last season on loan in La Liga with Valencia but made just three appearances.

Back in 2022, the right back was linked with a £20million switch to Manchester United.
