A DOCTOR has been suspended after having an affair with a patient who called him “lovely and hot".

Dr Matthew Young, 36, who works at Western Isles Hospital, met the woman in July 2021 while working in the emergency department at Antrim Area Hospital in Northern Ireland.

He admitted flirting with the patient during a 10 to 15-minute consultation, got her number and sent a text, which led to the pair having a relationship.

She called the doctor “hot” while he described her as “gorgeous” in the early texts.
