MAN JAILED FOR SEVEN YEARS FOR 'REVENGE' STABBING IN PUB

A man who twice stabbed a victim in a pub has been jailed for seven years.

Luke Smaje took "revenge" on martial arts fighter Jack Shaw after both had relationships with the same woman.

Smaje, 23, complained about being shown a lack of respect and said he wanted to "show pain". He saw Mr Shaw in the Broad Oak pub in Connah's quay on Christmas Eve and apparently agreed to go outside for a fight.

But a judge at Mold Crown Court said he got the "jump" on Mr Shaw and stabbed him with a "fairly sizeable" knife twice, with one blow going right through his liver.

Mr Shaw was rushed to the Countess of Chester Hospital. He lost two and a half litres of blood - a "life threatening" amount - and needed surgery twice after complications.
