ANC will make Zille mayorship possible
Cape Times
|September 25, 2025

In fact, some have often argued that ex-DA member Herman Mashaba, with the help of coalition partners, was on the right path to rescue the metro before internal political squabbles prematurely ended his reign.
Mashaba’s decision to leave the DA came with its consequences. The party failed to significantly grow its support in subsequent municipal elections.
