THE DA stands no chance of winning the City of Joburg in next year’s crucial local government elections, for Helen Zille to claim the mayoral chain.

The DA has had enough time to prove its worth to the residents of that City and the experience has been one to forget.
In fact, some have often argued that ex-DA member Herman Mashaba, with the help of coalition partners, was on the right path to rescue the metro before internal political squabbles prematurely ended his reign.
Mashaba’s decision to leave the DA came with its consequences. The party failed to significantly grow its support in subsequent municipal elections.
