IAN Cooper has resigned as leader of Staffordshire County Council - days after being kicked out of Reform UK.

Reform UK revoked Cllr Cooper's membership last week following allegations over racist social media posts, and he currently sits as an independent.

The councillor for Perrycrofts in Tamworth, above, has now resigned as leader of the county council.
