Seems you can work as hard as you like... but nothing can beat a bit of good fortune. Lady Luck drawing your name from a hat, fickle fate smiling on your endeavours.

SUMMER time brings a strange kind of sliding doors, bittersweet sadness to our viewing habits here in the cosy world of Cullimore Cottage.
Sometimes it has to do with stuff on telly, sometimes it’s to do with things I see online. Both times, it's because of stuff that happened in my past life, all those years ago in the early days of my young adulthood. Sigh. Memories from way back when catch up with me, kick my thoughts back into the past, all while throwing future dreams into the long green grass of nostalgia and regret. Aaah. Which is probably why I've gone all poetic and whimsified right now. So, enough. I shall straighten up and start again like a proper person. Ahem.
Now that summer is properly here, one of the things I find myself doing here at Cullimore Cottage is watching music festivals on TV. I can thoroughly recommend it. You get to watch acts old and new, all from the comfort of your armchair, or, in our case, sofa. It's much easier, cheaper and cleaner than actually popping along to the festivals in person and you can always turn over to another channel if you get bored or annoyed. However, there is a drawback. A pretty big one in my case.
