Football Eibler settling into City life after teaming up again with Struber
Bristol Post
|July 09, 2025
BERND Eibler has reflected on his move to Bristol City and lifted the lid on his working relationship with Gerhard Struber after the Robins confirmed the 31-year-old as their new assistant head coach ahead of their preseason training camp in Portugal.
The former Koln assistant is part of the new-look coaching staff at Ashton Gate following the departures of Liam Manning, Chris Hogg and James Krause. Having worked alongside Struber at each of his last three clubs, the Austrian will again partner the new City head coach in the BS3 dugout.
While Struber and Eibler's tenure is very much still in its infancy, with Struber's arrival only confirmed a little under three weeks ago, work is very much underway ahead of the new season. After returning to the Robins High Performance Centre for preseason testing at the end of June, the first-team squad have now jetted out to Portugal for a warm-weather training camp.
Although the last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind, Eibler has been impressed by what he has seen from both the players and Bristol as a whole.
"It's so great to be here at the club with a big history," the assistant head coach told the club's media team. "You can feel that every day when you come into the training ground, and also the city is very nice.
"We've gone out for food many times, we enjoy it, and the people are very friendly. So we enjoy the city but also the work with the boys.
