TWO thieves smashed the back window of a car in Bristol and stole the contents of the boot - while threatening a passerby who started filming them in the act.

Crime Witness exasperated over police decision not to investigate

But the eyewitness said he was surprised to be told by police they wouldn't be investigating the crime, and weren’t even going to ask for the video that clearly shows one of them helping himself to items through the smashed rear window.

Avon and Somerset Police told the driver who came across the break-in in progress they would not be doing anything other than logging the crime, because the criminals responsible were wearing facemasks. Now, the man who captured the moment on his phone video is urging other people in Bristol to “stand up and make an effort” to stop this kind of brazen crime.

The man told the Post he was driving north up Northcote Road in St George and, just before the T-junction with the main A420 Church Road, he approached two young masked men. One was on an electric scrambler-type motorbike, and the other had smashed the back window of a parked car.
