BRISTOL'S new Business Improvement District (Bid) officially comes into effect at the start of November, uniting the city centre under one cohesive, business-led partnership.

Bid Groups unite to launch £18m investment programme for city

Street cleaning will be a key focus of the new unified Bid

The newly unified Bristol Bid, which merges the operations of Broadmead, Redcliffe and Temple and Bristol City Centre Bids, sets in motion a five-year, £18 million investment programme designed to make the city cleaner, safer, greener and more vibrant. The move follows a successful ballot earlier this year, backed by 75 per cent of voting businesses, bringing more than 1,000 city centre businesses under one strategic model.

Chief operating officer Steve Bluff said: "This is a new way of working. We're removing boundaries, uniting our voice and scaling up delivery to better serve the businesses and communities at the heart of our city."
