Baltic Wharf ‘Affordable housing will still get built’
Bristol Post
|July 23, 2025
DEVELOPERS behind the housing plans at the Baltic Wharf caravan club have pledged that affordable housing will still get built despite concerns it could be only a single home.

Goram Homes, which is owned by Bristol City Council, is planning to build 166 flats, with 66 being “affordable”.
Goram is applying to the council to change how the affordable housing is funded. Initially, the council was going to purchase these 66 flats and turn them into council housing. But now these will be bought instead by the Sovereign Network Group, a housing association.
Because SNG will use government grants to cover the cost of the flats, Goram has to apply for a change in permission. Councillors on the development control B committee will vote on whether to approve the change on Monday, but that has sparked some doubts.
