Soap star sacked after using disabled slur about resort

EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick will not be returning to the soap after nearly two decades on the show after using offensive language about Blackpool and the town's residents.

The 31-year-old actor, who is best known for playing Jay Brown on the BBC show, competed in Strictly Come Dancing 2024 but was suspended by the broadcaster in June after he allegedly used a disabled slur on the Strictly set.
