Landing Byrd gives Day reasons to be cheerful

FARNBOROUGH Football Club have signed 23-year-old centre-back Lachlan Byrd.

The Australian moves to the Saunders Transport Community Stadium to strengthen the Boro backline. The versatile defender began his career with native Perth Soccer Club, before playing for Dandenong Thunder.
Byrd joined Airdrieonians in January 2023 and then made the switch to England with National League South club Welling United during that summer.
A rock in central defence for the Wings in 2023-24, Lachlan made 47 appearances in all competitions and even won their Player of the Year award.
He signed for National League Aldershot Town in July 2024 and ended the campaign with a brief loan spell at Hampton & Richmond Borough.
