Approval for final Deepcut phase met with applause

THE final planning application of the 1,200-home Deepcut regeneration project has been approved.
The massive housing scheme was given the initial green light back in 2014 when Surrey Heath Borough Council agreed the site was suitable for the major residential development. Now, nine years later, the final reserved matter has been signed off with members at the Thursday, June 5 planning committee bursting into spontaneous applause in celebration of the milestone.
The former Princess Royal Barracks covers 114 hectares.
