Dedicate thistle for hospice celebration

Monklands residents are asked to join St Andrew's Hospice for their celebration of life event this summer-and dedicate a Thanksgiving Thistle to someone special as part of a beautiful display.

The Airdrie charity is urging people to take part in the Thanksgiving Thistles event in two ways.

Firstly, you can dedicate a Thistle in memory of your loved one; their name will be written on a thistle marker which will be planted in a display in the hospice's grounds.

Secondly, everyone is invited to attend a thanksgiving service at the hospice grounds on August 21 at 7pm.

The event will bring people together "in celebration of those who are no longer with us".
