Amanda Holden is a busy bee this year. After transforming a neglected townhouse into a boutique B&B for BBC1 spin-off adventure Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job, sitting in judgement for an 18th year on ITV1 juggernaut Britain’s Got Talent and playing Cupid for new Netflix reality show Cheat: Unfinished Business, the star is now turning quizzical to helm the debut run of BBC1’s The Inner Circle.

‘I feel so lucky in my career that I’ve done basically everything and I thought this would add another string to my bow,’ shares Amanda, 54, when TV Times joins her on set in Glasgow to try out the game for ourselves.

Designed to test general knowledge and strategic thinking, each episode sees six contestants navigating different challenges where they must choose who to join forces with in their quest to bag a cash prize.

The show launches this Saturday with a celebrity version, which will run for six episodes and see famous faces paired with members of the public. There is also a 25-part daytime edition, starting from Monday, that sees civilians going it alone.
