The residents of Nonnatus House experience their most exotic and challenging Yuletide ever when they head to Hong Kong on a rescue mission for this year's Call the Midwife Christmas specials.

In the BBC1 two-parter, haberdasher Violet and husband Fred fly to Asia to visit Violet's son Derek, who is in the Hong Kong police. But when they call in at the convent's branch house there, they are horrified to discover that a building has collapsed, leaving people in desperate need.
