Filmed over five years and narrated by Hollywood star Tom Hanks, BBC1's new nature series The Americas takes us on an adventure across the continents of North and South America.

Starting with the Atlantic Coast, the 10-parter uses cutting-edge technology to reveal rare animal behaviour across a range of habitats, including the frozen north, the American West, the Caribbean and the Amazon.

"The Americas is an extraordinary journey across Earth's greatest continents, says Hanks. 'It has the widest variety of life on the planet.
