And while sadly, the rumors are true your egg quality does take a hit the older you get more and more women across the globe are taking control of their fertility (and their future!) and delaying motherhood to invest in their education, careers and overall happiness.

Oscar winner Hilary Swank became a first-time mom last year at 48 (!!), when she welcomed twins with her husband, Philip Schneider. "I'm able to give my focus to them in a way that I wouldn't have been able to [when I was younger]," Swank said of being an older parent. "I can give my all to them because I'm in a blessed position that I can say: 'Oh, I'm going to go back to work now.' Or, 'I'm going to take this time off now."" Months later, rapper Da Brat, 49, followed suit giving birth to a son with her wife Jesseca "Judy" Harris-Dupart.
