IPL 2018: Time For RCB To Overcome Inconsistency

Almost every year, the Royal Challengers of Bangalore puts up a very strong team on paper. And somehow, they always end up messing things up. They came very close to a title victory in 2009 and 2016, but the coveted trophy has eluded them in ten seasons. One of the biggest banes for RCB has been their inconsistency. They perform exceedingly well to reach the finals one season only to finish at the bottom in the very next one. Can 2018 be the year for RCB? Virat Kohli would be desperately hoping so. Because yet again he has a terrific bunch of talented players at his helm.

Captain Kohli would be leading from the front once more for Bangalore and the kind of form he is in, we can expect something big yet again from the Indian batting superstar. He had a tepid season in 2017 and being one of the leading run-getters of the IPL, would be keen to get back on track this year. Giving him company would be South Africa’s Mr. 360, AB de Villiers, who, when in flow, can absolutely annihilate any opposition. With Chris Gayle no longer with the RCB, the onus would be on Kohli and de Villiers to be the batting mainstays of the team.
