The Indian women’s cricket team lifted its maiden World Cup title on November 2, 2025. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side beat South Africa by 52 runs to become only the 4th side in ICC Women’s World Cup history to win the global event. India then made it to the semis as the 4th-placed side with a win over New Zealand. Their final league game was washed out against Bangladesh. In the semis, India made a giant kill, beating defending champions Australia by 5 wickets and chasing down a record 339-run target. In the final, they kept calm and saw off South Africa in another nervy contest.
