Twenty-one-year-old Tom Simpson rides to fifth place at the international time trial Grand Prix Martini in Geneva, Switzerland. Simpson had only moved to Europe to race that spring but was already making his presence felt, with two-stage wins at the Tour de l’Ouest and a finish just off the podium in fourth place at the World Championships the month before this race.
