The secrets, lies, and trauma surrounding the issue of domestic abuse are brought into the spotlight in ITV’s powerful new six-part thriller Angela Black.

The series stars Joanne Froggatt as suburban mum Angela, who lives with charming property developer husband Olivier (Game of Thrones’ Michiel Huisman) and their two sons, and who volunteers at a local dog shelter.

However, the family’s apparently idyllic life is a sham. Behind closed doors, Olivier is violent and controlling towards Angela, but she tries her best to hide the abuse.
