NEW COMEDY DRAMA
And Just Like That Thu, Sky Comedy HD & Sky Showcase HD, 9pm & 10pm
Seventeen years after they last appeared on the small screen, best friends Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte return this week in Sex and the City’s hugely anticipated revival, And Just Like That.
The new 10-part series reunites Sarah Jessica Parker with co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis for more fun, friendship and romantic entanglements in New York City – but Kim Cattrall, who played lusty PR executive Samantha, won’t be appearing in the new series.
The original Sex and the City – which ran between 1998 and 2004, and also yielded two movie sequels – remains one of TV’s most iconic shows, and Parker hopes the new series will rekindle that magic for longtime fans and younger viewers alike.
‘I think young women still really relate to this story,’ she says. ‘It’s about finding friendships that matter, looking for work that fulfils you, and pursuing love, even when it drags you, bloodied, down the street.’
STAYING TRUE
The storyline is being kept tightly under wraps, but we find Carrie involved in a podcast, and the friends navigating the complicated ups and downs of life in their 50s.
