The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story – Ryan Murphy’s new series retelling the fashion designer’s tragic slaying – is everything a fashionista would want it to be – salacious, scandalous and full of over-the-top glitz and glam. But there’s one notable absence from the decadent tale of excess and murder – Allegra Beck.

The heiress to the Versace dynasty – and Donatella’s only daughter – has been an enigma for more than 20 years now, with family insiders revealing she’s never fully recovered from her uncle’s murder on July 15, 1997 at the hands of serial killer Andrew Cunanan.

“Ryan shot a scene with Allegra,” a source tells the New York Post. “But he respected Donatella’s wishes and took it out [as] Donatella did not want her daughter portrayed in the show.”

Indeed, while Donatella is one of the most famous faces in fashion, Allegra, 31, has all but shunned public life.
