Not So Electrifying, But Still A Fun Drive

A review of the all electric 2021 BMW iX3

These are strange days in the automotive industry as all car manufactures are rushing to replace traditional fossil fuel engines with their electric counterparts. Some carmakers have gotten it right, while others seem not too sure of what direction to follow. While the plus points of owning a battery-powered car are its low carbon footprint and economy, there are also three significant drawbacks. The first is range, the second is charging time, and the third is battery life. With the BMW iX3 the company seems to have gotten the balance right.

BMW decided to make the platform of this car model flexible so it can adapt to a variety of power plants – from petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid, and now, full-electric. BMW calls this concept, “The Power of Choice.” You just plug in the preferred engine at the assembly line and off you go.
