As Good As It Gets

As I’m writing this, Thanksgiving is just round the corner – in 10 days to be exact – and my Thanksgiving dinner plans are still up in the air. Do I take the risk and put in my dinner reservations and have a contingency takeaway dinner plan if Covid dining restrictions are still limited to two?

The irony certainly wasn’t lost on me, that last Thanksgiving, when we could dine out in groups of five, regardless of household, we all wished “we could have bigger group parties”. Fast forward a year later, we are now in a situation of an even smaller party size. How could one predict that things will take an about-turn? But at least travel restrictions have been relaxed – that’s a progression!

When 2022 comes a-ringing, in the blink of an eye, we would have co-existed with Covid for 24 months. If 2020 felt like one was hit by a sledgehammer, then 2021 was the dizzy aftermath, none the wiser but still standing, surviving and hopefully, thriving.
