Developing a high efficiency motor for e-rickshaws, SEG Automotive is looking at a significant participation in the CV space.
Working towards increasing its reach in the growing electric vehicle market in India, SEG Automotive has developed a high-efficiency electric motor for e-rickshaws. Completing one year of independent operations in India, the company is scaling up in view of the potential it sees in the rising e-mobility segments in the country. Aiming at the e-rickshaw market to start with, the company is claiming that the new motor is scalable in terms of power. Developed locally, and in close coordination with the German counterparts, the motor, based on the demand, could be scaled up for use in bigger and more powerful electric vehicles. Capable of being scaled up to generate higher power and torque, the motor, according to Anil Kumar M R, Managing Director, SEG Automotive India, is part of a strategy to address the growing demand for CO2 emission reduction. The company is also working on a strategy to offer solutions for further reduction in emission levels of IC engines. Working on a 360-degree campaign that includes efficient IC engines, 48V hybrids, and electrics, SEG Automotive is looking at a significant uptake in activities in India.
