Competitions November 2017 saw South Africa hosting the 34th men’s and 25th ladies’ World Club Championships for shore anglers at Langebaan on the West Coast. Although the anglers had to battle seaweed and unfavourable weather conditions, they managed to land a few good catches. The Overberg Boat Club, together with the Western Province Deep Sea Angling Association (WPDSAA), hosted the 6th Annual Kleinbaai Bottomfish Interprovincial from 26 to 30 September 2017 with three teams from the Eastern Province, three from the Western Province and one from KwaZulu-Natal taking part.
