Pallikkutam April issue deals with the issue of malnutrition and hunger in India creating a paradox as the nation has abundance of food grains. The liberalisation era brought in changes in food eating habits leading to consumption of junk foods. This has led to an increase in non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, cancer, hypertension, gastrointestinal problems and heart disease. Use of new food technologies, better cultivation practices and old fermentation practices can help in solving the food paradox. This journal also examines how toy pedagogy can be creatively used for the holistic development of a child, how to deal with emotional stress created by Covid-19 and exam time in adolescents and the need to stop manual scavenging as highlighted by Kastoori, the national award winning Children's film. In research, India needs a collaborative effort of educational institutions, research centres,industry and government to address the problems of society while in cricket there is a tendency to blame the pitch for failures. In Myanmar the dream of a democratic government is still far away with death toll in protests rising above 500. The magazine also has regular columns on innovation, teaching methodologies, parenting, infotech, policy news and articles to build life skills.
