CAN INSTALLATION OF ETP CHANGE THE SITUATION OF GARMENT EXPORTS?

Being sustainable is the biggest issue of concern for most of the buyers and manufacturers who are into garment industry. In fact, with the increasing awareness among the end consumers about usage of environment friendly products that cause no harm to environment, the apparel industry all over the world is trying to find out solutions for minimizing pollution that can be caused by production of garments. A major part of pollution is caused during the dyeing process and it has become a major problem all garment clusters operating in India. Few years back, Tirupur one of the biggest garment export hubs in India faced a major blow when the Government ordered all dyeing units without proper ETP (EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT) to shut down, as a result most of the dyeing units went into financial crisis and the industry actually came to a halt. Now again the Government has issued a notice to the dyeing units operating without proper ETP installation to stop dyeing.
