A major part of pollution is caused during the dyeing process and it has become a major problem all garment clusters operating in India. Few years back, Tirupur one of the biggest garment export hubs in India faced a major blow when the Government ordered all dyeing units without proper ETP (EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT) to shut down, as a result most of the dyeing units went into financial crisis and the industry actually came to a halt. Now again the Government has issued a notice to the dyeing units operating without proper ETP installation to stop dyeing.
