We’ve been waiting for ages to see what the new Ineos Grenadier would look like – and now at last we have. The pictures have already been shared to death on social media – but what’s the actual story behind them?

While everyone else was going on about how much the Grenadier looks like an old Defender, we’ve been analysing the pictures for clues about what you’ll be able to expect from it off-road. The Lamborghini LM002 is a legend of a machine, for one. In the days before SUVs were a thing, far less performance SUVs, it was the V12 Countach-engined equivalent of today’s Urus – only in a body that bore more of a resemblance to a Hummer. We’ve got the story of an LM002 that’s just been restored for the sort of money which, when it was new, could probably have bought you an entire Cotswold village.
