For TV, stage and film actress Jane Kaczmarek, turning 70 has come with some wonderful surprises.
Best known for her role as the temperamental yet decisive matriarch, Lois, on the beloved series Malcolm in the Middle, Jane's been busy reprising her character in the upcoming Malcolm reboot and filming a new Netflix series, The Boroughs. “At this stage of my life right now, I honestly couldn't be happier,” she tells Woman's World. Much of her joy can be credited to her recent marriage to high school sweetheart Rusty, a corporate financial lawyer. “I was at my 50th reunion in Wisconsin and saw this boy who I had been madly in love with. We dated, but I never thought he liked me as much as I liked him.” Surprise! “When he said, ‘I’ve been in love with you for 52 years,’ I almost went into a coma!” Previously married to West Wing actor Bradley Whitford, with whom she has three children, Jane is grateful for this season of second chances. “This year has been incredible. I’m so thankful.” Here, Jane shares little things that bring her bliss and keep her grounded.
