A blind date with love

When Clare starts off her snowy morning running late and rushing to an important “meeting,” the last thing she expects is to stumble upon new love

A blind date with love

Neighborhood roads were cleared, but an idling snowplow at the bottom of Clare's long driveway blocked her exit. She was going to be late for her date with Charlie! Even though they hadn't met, from everything she'd heard, he was definitely the one for her. Clare waved her arms and shuffled through snow, yelling over the engine's rumbling. “Hello!”

Head down, the driver fidgeted with something near the steering wheel.

“Hello?” What if Charlie was gone before she arrived? Without even thinking, she packed a handful of snow in her hands, took aim and thumped it lightly against a brawny shoulder.

The driver straightened and faced Clare with eyes that matched the brilliant blue sky. After shutting off the engine, he leapt out and walked toward her. He was not what she expected. Tall and broad-shouldered with dark wavy hair and chiseled features. This guy could get a leading heartthrob role. That thought set Clare's heart racing instantly.

“Did you just hit me with a snowball?” he asked.

Their eyes met and time almost slowed down until Clare snapped to attention.

“It was just a gentle toss to get your attention.”

His smile warmed the chilly air. “Well, it worked.”

Clare nearly forgot the reason for the snowball. “I'm sorry. I'm late for an important date. Could you move the plow, please?”
