A new documentary lifts the lid on the harrowing kidnanning case and Yoko's decades-long pain

YOKO & JOHN'S - FIGHT TO FIND HER MISSING DAUGHTER

Yoko hasn't seen her child for two years," John Lennon shockingly revealed in an interview in 1972. "For two years we've been chasing them all over the world." Ultimately it would be 23 years before Yoko Ono and her daughter Kyoko - who was abducted by her father at age seven - would be reunited, a pain that broke the artist's heart over and over again.

KIDNAP PLOT

A new documentary, One To One: John & Yoko, reveals the harrowing true story behind the decades-long family saga that saw John and Yoko spend $2 million chasing Kyoko around the world, after Yoko's first husband, Anthony Cox, abducted her in 1971.

image"Losing my daughter was a very serious pain," Yoko told People in 2003. "There was always some empty space in my heart." Yoko married first husband Anthony in the summer of 1963, giving birth to Kyoko just two months later. As she struggled to balance her life as an artist with motherhood, their relationship gradually became one of a creative partnership.

By the time John showed up at one of Yoko's solo shows in 1966 it was over.

Within two years, Yoko and John had split from their spouses and fallen in love.
