When veteran news presenter Liz Hayes made the shock announcement last week she was leaving Nine after more than 44 years, it was deemed "an end of an era".

Now, it can be revealed that the seasoned broadcaster, who was the face of Nine's flagship current affairs show 60 Minutes for almost three decades, has all but sealed a threeyear deal rumoured to be worth a whopping $2 million, with rival network Seven.
