Twenty-five years ago, we were first introduced to the fast-talking world of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. The single mother and daughter from the tightknit and wonderfully quirky community of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, quickly captured audiences’ attention with their enviably close relationship.

From their romances and aspirations - Lorelai (Lauren Graham) hoped to open an inn with her best friend, chef Sookie (Melissa McCarthy), while Rory (Alexis Bledel) dreamed of going to Harvard - to their strained relations with Lorelai’s wealthy, overbearing parents, Richard and Emily (Edward Herrmann and Kelly Bishop), we were privy to every corner of their lives. As Gilmore Girls celebrates a massive milestone, we discover some interesting facts about the popular drama.

THE TIES THAT BIND

The series ran for seven seasons, from 2000 to 2007. However, when contract negotiations failed following the WB's merger with UPN in 2006 to create The CW, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband, series writer Daniel Palladino, were forced to step down.

The seventh season wound up being
