Comedian and Loose Women star Judi Love on family, her career and what's next for her
Since joining Loose Women in 2020, Judi Love has frequently had audiences howling with laughter thanks to her quick wit and feisty one-liners.
Yet away from her jovial character on camera, Judi has had some difficult times in her personal life. The star tragically lost her beloved dad four years ago and, sadly, her mum died from dementia in 2009. Fondly, the comedian holds on to the dear memories she shared with her parents, and considers herself a miracle child. Here, the former social worker, 44, reveals why food and laughter are her greatest loves, why she wishes she had spent more time with her late mum, and how she always knew she was destined for the stage.
Hi Judi! As the youngest of five children, who did you look up to when you were young?
It's got to be my mother, and a couple of other women in my life. My mum would make a lot out of a little, and no matter what she made, it was always flavorsome. In our family, if there was a special function, they wanted my mum to make [the food]. I grew up with a beautiful feeling that she was a great cook.
Did your mum teach you to cook?I was too busy out raving, but I wish I had spent more time with her when she was cooking, because she's not around now. Although, one particular day I made a curry goat and it tasted just like my mum's. I felt so proud!
