It seems hard to believe that next month will mark 25 years since the death of Princess Diana. A tragedy etched in the memories of those old enough to remember the public outpouring of grief that followed.
What seems hard to understand is why William and Harry will not be jointly marking this most sombre of milestones.
In the years before her death, it seemed at times as though it was Diana, William and Harry against the world.
A family bond that no doubt helped the struggling princess during the darkest of days.
