The brand's focus on weight reduction allows for increased width in this elegant four-berth

COACHMAN ACADIA 675 XTRA

COACHMAN UPDATED its Acadia range at the start of this season, mainly with a view to reducing weight. At the time, we reviewed the all-new 460 (issue 483).

But that wasn't the only new van in the range. The 675 Xtra is an 8ft-wide twin-axle version of the best-selling 575, with an end washroom and a transverse island bed.

Pitch and set-up

With ATC fitted as standard, the 675 Xtra shouldn't be a tricky tow. Thanks to the weight saving, its MTPLM is relatively low for a twin-axle.

Twin gas bottle lockers up front are easy to access, and there's an external hatch for the large underbed area. You also get an external barbecue point and mains socket.

imageLounge

Unusually for a caravan with an L-shaped lounge, the 675 Xtra doesn't have a large blank wall for a TV. So you have two big side windows, which, with the wide sunroof and the three front windows, allow light to flood in. There is a set of TV sockets in the cupboard under the window by the door.

The folding table easily accommodates four, and stows neatly afterwards. A narrow sill houses a socket at the offside end and a USB and USB-C port on the nearside.
