Over the past five decades, a number of offbeat and lesser-known spaces have emerged—dedicated to everything from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's life to the histories of sanitation and policing. More recently, creative initiatives like the Lodhi Colony art district have turned the city walls into open-air galleries. These unconventional spaces reflect the city's layered heritage and shine a light on narratives often missing from the mainstream.

Dilli Haat (INA, Pitampura & Janakpuri)

Conceived by DTTDC in 1994, Dilli Haat recreates the charm of a traditional village market, with permanent stalls for artisans from across India. Rotating craftspeople showcase handmade goods, while regional food stalls serve cuisines from every state. Some shops are permanent, while others rotate every fifteen days. The Pitampura Haat (2008) expanded the model to north Delhi, while the Janakpuri Haat, opened in 2014, brought it to west Delhi.
