Porsche is preparing to launch its next-generation Cayenne EV SUV in 2026, and one of its standout features will be the ability to charge wirelessly—much like placing a smartphone on a charging pad.

HOW THE TECHNOLOGY WORKS

The Cayenne EV will support inductive charging, a system that uses electromagnetic fields to transfer energy between a ground-based charging pad and a receiver built into the vehicle. Owners will be able to simply park their SUV over the pad in a garage or designated space, and charging will begin automatically, eliminating the need to plug in.
