Nikon's Z6 III sports a new type of sensor that jacks the price up a little and the performance up a lot. But who is this camera for?

R55 000/nikonsa.co.za

The Z6 III is an excellent camera to break Stuff’s Nikon dry spell. Its magnesium alloy weatherproofed unibody is coated with a black textured surface anybody who has handled optical equipment since 1950 will recognise. Knobs and dials adorn the body in strategic locations. It looks like it takes excellent photos before you twist the sensor cap and affix your favourite Nikon Z lens. Yeah, you’ll have to supply one of those too.

That’s probably not a problem. The fifty grand price point weeds out all but the most well-heeled of wannabes. Most anybody with a Nikon Z6 III on a sling knows how to use a camera. At the very least, there’s at least one lens that’ll fit the bill. Stuff had the Nikon Z 35mm lens for this review, an allpurpose workhorse that’ll run you about R13 000.
