DAN Green has enjoyed his first season at Coventry after making the step up from Newport (Salop) and he is determined to help turn around his side’s mid-season slump.

Green sets his sights on a big finish at Coventry

The 20-year-old hopes to put Coventry’s ongoing injury situation, which last week rose to 12 casualties, to one side and produce a strong finish to the season.

Coventry looked set for a title push at one stage but have been undone in recent rounds with four consecutive defeats heading into this weekend after their 38-24 loss at Doncaster Knights last Saturday.

Talented second row Green thinks that Coventry’s “control the controllable” attitude will unite the players and maintain their focus on the games ahead as opposed to the season outcome under the watchful eye of director of rugby Alex Rae, below.

Green told The Rugby Paper: “We like to focus on us, play at our best and the league will take care of itself. We focus on what's in our control and not the external sources such as referee decisions and other outside variables and factors.
