Cheshire work hard to subdue Cumbria

CHESHIRE came from behind to beat Cumbria 45-28 to move into the semi-finals unbeaten after a perfect record in Pool 1.
Rob Pearl’s early try was cancelled out through Mark Williams and Rhys James’ double.
Tom McCullough responded before half-time for Cumbria. However, tries from Ciaran Connolly and Tom Hughes and Williams’ penalty made it 38-14.
Ollie Rose gave Cumbria hope but Connolly scored his second, with Williams once again successful.
Aaron Stephens then went over for Cumbria but Christian Jones’ side ended with a perfect record in Pool 1.
Alexander Robson and Matthew Hayes scored hat-tricks to help Northumberland beat Durham 85-7.
James Thompson's double and tries from Jack Elliot and James Bird, with Joshua Farley successful with six of his seven kicks, capped off a wonderful first half display.
