"I've always thrived under the pressure of competition"

Linn Grant is one of European golf’s hottest prospects and she’s determined to give herself the best possible chance in the Majors this year...
Golf runs deep in 25-year-old Linn Grant’s veins. With a rich family heritage in the sport - her grandfather, a Scottish golf professional from Inverness who emigrated to Sweden, and her father, John, a seven-time winner on the Swedish Senior Tour - it seemed only natural that Grant would pick up a club.
Growing up in Sweden alongside her older brother and sister, who also played golf, Grant was surrounded by the game from an early age. Yet it was her relentless drive and passion for competition that set her apart from her siblings, pushing her to rise through the ranks and establish herself as a force to be reckoned with on the LPGA Tour.
While Grant’s amateur career was impressive, marked by multiple victories at Arizona State University, it was in 2022, during her first full year as a professional, that she made her mark on the global stage. She etched her name into the history books by becoming the first woman ever to win a DP World Tour event, the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed.
Last year, she made history again at the same tournament, this time with the biggest comeback ever recorded in a golf event. Starting the final round 11 shots behind leader and fellow Swede Sebastian Soderberg, Grant delivered a sensational final-round 65 to snatch the title by one shot from Soderberg and Calum Hill. The victory added to her growing collection of silverware, which now includes six Ladies European Tour titles and one LPGA Tour title. This story is from the May 2025 edition of Golf Monthly.
