Alice Hewson of England defended her title at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open, as Swiss fan favourite Chiara Tamburlini takes second place.

HEWSON TRIUMPHS AGAIN

The sixth edition of the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open at Migros Golfpark Holzhäusern, held from 11 – 13 September, culminated in an exciting conclusion with the world-class golfers of the Ladies European Tour (LET) delivering a thrilling finale in perfect conditions.

With three birdies to finish, Alice Hewson secured her second victory at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open, defending her title at the only LET tournament in Switzerland with a clear five-stroke lead. Unlike 2024 when she won in a playoff, the 28-year-old shifted into high gear again at the end this year, winning outright with a total of 13 under par. Second place was shared by Swiss fan favourite Chiara Tamburlini, Lauren Walsh (Ireland) and Kajsa Arwefjall (Sweden).

imageAnd now this: I couldn't have asked for more. The birdies in the final round make the victory even sweeter," said Hewson, who celebrated her first victory more than five years ago in her first start on the LET – and then had to wait four years before finally triumphing again at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open 2024. She had already shown herself to be in strong form in August and was voted LET Player of the Month by the fans after three top ten finishes.

In addition to €45,000 in prize money, Hewson can once again look forward to one of the tour’s most beautiful trophies: a 7.7-kilogram wooden cow christened “Muuhligan”.
