Large minor planet Pallas is on view all month

Minor planet 2 Pallas reaches opposition on 10 August, when it can be found among the stars of Delphinus, the Dolphin. The pattern of stars that forms Delphinus is distinctive, resembling a small diamond with a tail (the diamond is the dolphin's nose, the tail the start of its neck). A familiar highlight of summer skies, it acts as an excellent guide for locating Pallas at the start of the month.
