Dodos plus aliens? In the Pleistocene, anything is possible

Consider the dodo. Consider its squat, waddling form and that astonishing punchline of a beak. The dodo is the ambassador of extinction so much so that it's become a palpably alien presence, if simultaneously a rather cheerful one. The dodo's also the first alien creature you come across in Astrobotanica. Given the nature of the game, and the nature of the dodo, this makes a lot of sense.

Astrobotanica is yet another survival game about crash-landing on a strange planet. Once again, you gather resources and explore, going from eking out a life to genuinely thriving. The game's big idea, though, is that the planet is Earth. It's Earth during the Pleistocene, an epoch that ended just under 12,000 years ago, featuring glacial cycles and megafauna. You play as an alien botanist and must study plants in order to make use of their various qualities.
